About recent Jewelry

Art reflects our culture, technology, and our world interpreted through artist’s hands. In my recent work, I have experimented with laser technology, marrying it with patterns from art history and global culture _ a source of long-standing inspiration. My work in acrylic jewelry _ a simple, elegant, translucent form, embellished with complex pattern  creates a luminous, rustically elegant work of art in each wearable piece.

About Sally

A professional artist and designer for over 35 years, Sally Hobbib Rumman holds an MFA in Sculpture and Graphics. Her love of materials, natural and man-made, and a skill for engineering objects, has allowed her to create a diverse body of both 2-D and 3-D work.  In addition to her latest acrylic laser-engraved collection, she also creates jewelry using natural materials:  stone, glass, metals and found objects.

Sally’s wide-ranging career has included designing furniture, lighting, and finishes for her own small custom company, as well as a national furniture company. Her designs have been sold by Bloomingdale’s, Marshall Field’s, Dayton-Hudson, and in Europe by Allegro, Germany. Sally’s sculptural series Ceremonial Tables can be found in Hospices as interactive altars. Her contributions to commercial and residential interior design have been recognized by the American Institute of Architects with AIA awards.
